MORE ABOUT HOOF RITE™
With the barrage of supplements on the market, why feed just one more supplement? Not all horses need a hoof supplement, but all horses do need a balanced diet. Horses are athletes, so it is essential that their nutritional needs be met.
The horse requires good quality hay as a source of protein and fiber. Grain is needed as a source of carbohydrates and energy. Vitamins and minerals are needed to balance the nutrition lacking in the existing ration. Consult your veterinarian as to the possible nutritional deficiencies in your area's feed sources. Breeding stock and growing foals will have unique nutritional needs.
Some horses have poor quality feet. Routine farrier care is a must to maintain a functional hoof. Your farrier is the first person to consult about the condition of your horses hooves. Hoof supplements have been proven to provide nutritional support for horn growth. Buffer's research in 1992 discovered increased growth rates and hoof hardness scores when D-Biotin was fed at 15 mg. per day. D-Biotin is a B-vitamin necessary for co-enzyme function to provide for protein and lipid synthesis. Protein is the major building block used for structural integrity of the horn wall.
The animo acid, d/l methionine, improves horn quality. Zinc was shown in 1992 by Coenen and Spizlei to influence hoof hardness. Zinc, when added to the food source, has also proven to decrease hoof lesions.
Keratin is the major protein in hoof horn and is made up of sulfur animo acids. Supplementation of sulfur containing animo acids, d/l methionine has been has been shown to be beneficial for generating hoof growth.
.IN 1997
Butler and Hint found that adding GELATIN, an animal by- product, to a horse's diet can actually decrease hoof growth.

Additional Information:
If a horse has brittle feet, cracks, trouble holding shoes, or poor hoof wall quality, a nutritional hoof supplement will benefit these conditions. Most hoof wall quality problems will respond to good nutritional management and frequent farrier care.
HOOF RITETM is the best combination of nutrients to help with the structural and nutritional needs of the equine hoof. Show barns have put their horses on this supplement because they noted a secondary improved hair coat, as well. HOOF RITETM is also safe for your pregnant mares.
How Long Will a 20 Pound Bucket of HOOF RITETM Last?
At the maximum of 2 scoops, the bucket will last 2 months. After the effects of hoof wall structure and growth are noted, the horse can be cut back to a maintenance regime of one scoop per day. The bucket will then last 4 months.
Testimonials:
"HOOF RITETM is the best product of its kind at any price. I haven't had a horse that didn’t respond favorably to it. - Pat Gallahan, CJF
"Being a long-time user of Farriers Formula , I was amazed to experience even faster hoof growth using HOOF RITETM, saving money is a bonus as well. HOOF RITETM, has become a vital part of my feeding program. - Jean Goetz Groves.
“My foundered horse was placed on a leading supplement in September 1992. As of September 1995 he still suffered from shelly feet with seedy toes, poor hoof wall quality and slow growth. My farrier was unable to remove any growth and only rasped the feet level before shoeing. In September of 1995 we began using HOOF RITETM, and the change is amazing. Mow the hoof wall is strong and no longer looses any shoes. The white line is healthy and the growth is more natural. Each shoeing, my farrier can trim 1/4 to 1/2” from the hoof. Bonuses are the increase in mane, tail and coat quality, as well as the improvement in my horse’s attitude and gait. My farrier and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend HOOF RITETM.”
